Today sees Celestial Green Ventures play host to a Biomass consultancy presentation by group of ambitious and highly motivated students from the renowned CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) MIM (Masters in Management) programme, which boasts some of the best and brightest students from around the world. The international group are based in University College Dublin’s Smurfit Business School this semester, before travelling away to one of the 27 other partner universities to complete their Masters in Management programme, after Christmas.

The company has sought to develop this environmental partnership with this prestigious programme, after members of CEMS Dublin approached Celestial Green Ventures, to discuss carbon balancing specific emissions which they would have throughout their 2012-2013 programme.

Celestial Green Ventures has decided to sponsor the carbon balancing of the following carbon emissions for two specific groups of CEMS students:

CEMS Club Dublin – carbon balancing of their return flights to the 2012 Career Forum in Budapest and their return flights from their home cities to attend the first semester of classes in Smurfit Business School.

CEMS Global Student Board of Representatives – this certificate, which represents the carbon balancing of their flights to their 2012-13 meetings.

In return, we have offered two groups of students the opportunity to work on real Business Consultancy Projects, related to our business. The culmination of this first consultancy project is today, as the Biomass Consultancy group present their research results and recommendations to Celestial Green Ventures.

Celestial Green Ventures has taken the decision to temporarily suspend all their agreements with the Indigenous Tribes in Brazil, pending clarity in regards to the ongoing issues between the Brazilian authorities and the Indigenous Tribes, in the Amazon region of Brazil.

It has recently come to the company’s attention that there may be some concerns regarding our agreements with Indigenous Tribes and their rights to benefit from the natural resources that are present, within the lands they inhabit. The company has not yet received any official correspondence regarding the agreement, in question, with the Awo Xo Hwara Indigenous Association.

Celestial Green Ventures believe that our REDD+ Natural Capital projects can bring many benefits to Indigenous Communities. The company is and always will be fully cooperative with any inquiries, in relation to these issues involving Indigenous Tribes and the Brazilian authorities.

The final amendments on the Trocano Araretama Project Design Document (PDD) – which is currently going through third party validation process – were discussed during a visit from our Brazilian partners from Instituto Amazônia Livre to the Celestial Green Ventures Head Office in Dublin.

The IAL team comprised Waldemar de Lima (President of IAL), Antônio José do Nascimento Fernandes (Counsellor-Secretary), and Renan Albuquerque Rodrigues (Consultant in the Human Sciences Department), who travelled all the way from Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas State, in the North region of Brazil.

The teams were joined by Eimear Dempsey, Research and Development Co-ordinator of Ecosystem Certification Organisation, who are the governing body of the Natural Forest Standard (NFS), under which our initial projects adhere to.

This week-long visit last October also included fostering further ties between the organisations, developing future strategies and sampling some real Irish culture.
